Hinge

A hinge connects two components together in a movable way. In contrast to a door hinge (Türband), the two parts of the hinge are firmly joined to each other, and the moving part cannot be lifted out. Modern windows are today usually designed as side-hung (turn) windows or tilt-and-turn windows. They are fixed to the window frame with hinges, whereby on a tilt-and-turn window the upper hinge must have a release mechanism so that the tilting action can be carried out. On a modern window, the hinge is therefore a component of the hardware.
