Materials and heating insulation qualities of lift-up sliding doors
FENSTERNORM offers lift-up sliding doors with large panels in different materials like PVC, PVC-aluminium composite and aluminium. Aluminium is firm enough for the frame profiles and sufficient for the installation of large window panels. PVC and PVC-aluminium are strengthened with steel reinforcement and this provides excellent stability. All the fittings are firmly attached to steel reinforcements.
The PVC profiles have high insulating qualities thanks to their closed air chambers. Even the combination with aluminium cladding cannot change this. Windows made completely out of aluminium have heat insulation made from glass-fibre reinforced polyamide. All kinds of lift-up sliding doors can be provided with double and triple glazing. Also, "warm edges" with Swisspacer can be ordered in order to reach the passive house standard.
Colours and equipment
PVC lift-up sliding doors are available in different designs. Aluminium windows or windows with aluminium shells are available in all RAL colours, they can be anodised or produced in wood optics. Equipment with ornament glazing and laminated safety glass is possible. Aluminium lift-up sliding doors can be provided with single-pane safety glass. Burglary-restraining equipment up to security class RC2 is possible.
Light as a feather
Despite their solid weight FENSTERNORM lift-up sliding doors can be opened without any significant effort. The door can slide aside without any noise and their movements are supple and flowing. The lift-up sliding doors can be stopped in any desired position according to your wishes and needs. The handling is quite simple and can be done with just one hand. That's why the door is perfectly suitable for frequent use for example as a terrace or balcony door. It can be used perfectly by children and seniors.
