Schüco VentoAir - a window rebate ventilator as invisible moisture protection
During an energy-efficiency refurbishment, draughty older windows are replaced with new, completely airtight window solutions. Yet this is precisely where the problem begins in many properties. The room air can no longer circulate naturally, and if you ventilate incorrectly or too little, the humidity rises and mould spores have a clear run. To prevent this and to ensure air exchange without any manual action, Schüco has developed VentoAir, an innovative solution in the form of a window rebate ventilator. With a self-regulating flap based on the principle of pressure-difference equalisation, indoor air is carried outwards and outdoor air inwards. In stronger winds there is no draught, as the ventilator flap reduces the amount of outdoor air entering and thus prevents noise and the effects of draughts. The system is fitted invisibly and without drill holes or screw fixings within the centre seal of the window. As it is a mechanical flap, it incurs no energy costs whatsoever.
